We greatly appreciate our patients for choosing to have their dental care with us. We are dedicated to preserving, restoring, and enhancing the health, function, and esthetics of your smile. We do so by performing the most advanced therapies that will result in beautiful and long-lasting smiles. Our commitment to excellence has been recognized by dental professionals and patients. Dental Insurance
We want our patients to receive all the benefits their insurance policy entitles them to.
The majority of dental insurance policies do not require your doctor to be a plan provider for the patient to receive benefits.
We are happy to fill out and submit dental insurance forms to insurance carriers for our patients. These forms are typically sent to your insurance company within a day of your treatment. Narratives are written for those cases that require it.
We Are Not Plan Providers for Any Insurance Company for Two Important Reasons.
- First, our relationship with our patients is of utmost importance to us. Dental insurance policies often create barriers between doctors and patients. Confusing insurance policies and terminology often lead to patients misunderstanding their coverage and frustration.We maintain excellent relationships with our patients. We will deliver the highest level of dental care and will help you get the most benefit out of the dental policy you have chosen.
- Second, and very importantly, dental insurance policies often create "disincentives" for ideal and state-of-the-art dental care. This is especially true for surgical treatments. Take, for instance, this denial of coverage for a service from a major dental insurance carrier that was sent to one of our patients.
True Example: A pre-determination for benefits was sent regarding a bone graft at the same time as a tooth extraction. The dental insurance company responded, "… No benefits can be allowed for regenerative procedures when done in connection with extractions…".
It seems the dental insurance company would prefer a patient to sit through multiple treatment visits instead of having it completed in a single visit. To further aggravate this situation, the best results are typically achieved when bone grafting (regeneration techniques) are performed at the same time as the tooth extraction.
Many examples similar to the one given above could be provided, but the theme is the same. Allowing dental company policies to dictate the manner in which your care is delivered may not be in your best interest.
We are more than happy to schedule treatment in a manner that best fits your dental and financial needs. Insurance company policies should not be allowed to dictate what treatments can be performed and in what manner they are provided. Decisions regarding your care are best made by you and Dr. Mahn.

Discussion of your fees will be conducted in a professional and private manner. Options may vary depending on the scope of your treatment. Like your treatment, it is important to us that you understand and feel comfortable with your payment plan. Treatment costs should not be an obstacle to receiving the best care.
